Based on our kid’s interest, we need to provide them with the material which we think will motivate them and relate to them. On top of that, we could create our own scenarios. We could for example, create a greengrocer’s shop in a corner of the child’s room and with just a few items like an apple, an orange, a carrot, a banana create activities and play by alternating in the role of a shop owner and a customer.

And every time we can add something else to our shop. Our little ones will ask for more and every time they will learn and practice new phrases. And of course if we learn the fruits we also learn their colors too. The yellow lemon, the red apple, the green pepper, the orange carrot. Later we can learn “ten lemon, one euro”, 5 bananas one euro so on. Engaging activities like these help children maintain mental images in their memory and do not at all resemble school materials and methodologies or force sedentary learning.
