FACILITATING ESSAY WRITING

 

At B2 level, students usually feel comfortable with  letter writing; after all the topics  come with questions which guide their task. Students  also find that the loose article writing style is friendly to them. As far as stories are concerned, we all know that stories inspire the imaginative students and challenge the less inventive ones. But  when it comes to opinion essays, students are hesitant and apprehensive. They fear that there is little chance of them coming up with  ideas worth writing about. However, the truth of the matter is that one can break down the process of opinion and discursive essay writing to tangible parts and so help students successfully write them. In my experience, if one starts with how to structure a paragraph and then extends the practice to producing a whole essay, one has as easier task at hand.
