SPICE UP  THROUGH CHORAL WORK.

CHORAL READING AND CHORAL SPEAKING.

 

Choral practices and elements can be introduced in our class from time to time for a number of reasons. For starters, there is no single teacher who is not envious of the discipline, the group spirit, the commitment, the common goal and order emanating from and running through any type of choral work. On the opposite spectrum, there is no teacher who can function properly in classrooms where constant irrelevant comments bring havoc to constructive order. Irrelevant, extraneous and distracting comments indeed shatter common goals and  one way to tame them is choral practice and habits. Choral work is used extensively in the early stages of learning when students are invited to chorally repeat phrases and words they learn. Why then do we abandon this practice completely later?
