MINDFULNESS ACTIVITIES TO INCORPORATE IN OUR LESSONS 

                              

Could mindfulness or else meditation be introduced into the classroom to  improve emotional regulation and the kids’ attention? So the mindfulness bug got into me and I wanted to know more about it and  watched numerous TED talks on the topic and they were all very promising. Andy Puddicombe said that mindfulness is  looking after one’s mind, it can be the aspirin of the mind. It dawned on me that I personally needed lots of it (with age one learns to appreciate rather than waste  the moment and certainly wants to manage one’s thoughts and sensations). I learnt about Richard Burnett who  says that the second mode of the mind – apart from thinking– is sensing. His “dot B” project provides engaging and practical use of meditation to show how training in sensing can help children cope with anxiety.
