LITERARY CIRCLES AND LITERATURE WEEK

The literature tool in language development has been stressed over and over and rightly so. We all know that literature enriches our souls, passes on experiences, wisdom and sculpts our language. We, language teachers, know that extensive reading is invaluable primarily for the context it provides. So  graded readers, storybooks and simplified literature pieces  are wonder material. They promote  multi literacy, develop a learning context, boost emotional awareness and learner autonomy. If the literature piece has intriguing plot, it hooks the readers and involves  them to the point where  pleasure and learning mingle smoothly. So the choice of literature book  is crucial. Not only should it be engrossing but lend itself to further activities.
