DIGITAL STORY TELLING  

 

Digital storytelling has emerged in the last decade alongside traditional story telling forms. Telling stories orally to each other will certainly endure as one of our most powerful forms of communication but more of us will be telling stories with media accompaniment in the years to come. With new technologies surrounding us, storytelling has taken a new expression and a new meaning. In this age of inexpensive, widely distributed digital tools, we can produce stories, (not just watch) and share them on the great stage of the Internet. Digital storytelling is not my soft point but the new media narrative in education cannot be ignored. Some only go for oral story telling; few go for digital storytelling and others blend both. In this article I will touch on how oral and written storytelling which use digital and art skills can be used to create digital stories. We have entered an evolutionary stage of production where with an average computer and a small budget we can reinforce digital literacies to create a story.
