Part 2. BUILDING THE WRITING SKILL IN STUDENTS.

The suggestion here is that we need to teach structure like we teach vocabulary, speaking, listening and grammar. We need to  incorporate  sentence building techniques  in our lesson on a regular basis and so gradually raise students’  awarenes of the “ordering”, the “sequencing” and the “pattern formation” of words. We can do this by gradually and systematically involving  students  into  sentence building activities.   

For starters, I draw the building parallel and tell students that they need words to build sentences like  builders need bricks to build walls. We have many kinds of words and they all have names. Some words are called “nouns”, others “verbs” or “adjectives” and so on. So students learn that  words have names.
